Biodiesel – A green fuel

We are living in the world where there is a need to reduce, reuse and recycle. When it comes to fuel, we are usually in a rut. The petroleum that we are relying on for many years is going to be depleted soon and there are only a few alternative fuels around.

Fortunately, the emergence of Biodiesel has proven time and time again to be a strong candidate for alternative fuel. Let us look at Biodiesel in this post.

Biodiesel is a non toxic, sulfur free fuel that is beneficial to the environment since it biodegrades faster than sugar would and has less toxicity than salt. Besides these green benefits, the most important environment friendly feature of Biodiesel is that its emissions are lower than those of petroleum diesel.

Biodiesel is made from renewable resources like vegetable oil and animal fats. The by product of Biodiesel is glycerin which in itself is a very useful and expensive product and is used extensively by the beauty product industry. Now we are talking about reusing and recycling! Unfortunately, the cost of producing Biodiesel for commercial use is relatively high right now.

With rising fuel prices and diminishing fossil fuel resources, Biodiesel is fast catching up as a popular alternative fuel. In fact, there are people who caught up with this technology and started producing their OWN Biodiesel. There are Biodiesel processors like the Biobuddy 53 Gallon Biodiesel Processor which is available for home use and it is selling really well. This is a very cost saving solution for home owners who needs to drive.

With the above said, we have an interesting situation: The cost of producing Biodiesel commercially is higher, but the cost of producing Biodiesel at home is lower. We definitely hope that there is a closing gap in the cost of commercially produced Biodiesel in the near future.
